The project took a strong focus on ESD and incorporates grey water recycling, water conservation, rainwater re-use and centralised gas fired hot water systems.

Description: | This project comprises of a new 4-storey building at the Australian National University, for the purposes of student accommodation and incorporates 90 student bed-sitter apartments, common room, meeting rooms and shared laundry facilities. This project was selected by the ANU Centre for Sustainable Energy Systems, as a trial project for a Sun tracking PV solar system, for the generation of electricity and hot water for heating and domestic hot water, which they have in development. The Solar component of the work was partially funded by a Federal Government grant, for the development of this system. |

Description: | New hexagonal-shaped 4 storey building incorporating rain water and grey water reuse and accommodates three Colleges specialising in international relations and comparative politics. The ground floor accommodates entry foyer, discursive teaching spaces and lecture rooms, seminar spaces and a public café – all arranged around a central forum space which acts as a focus for meeting and exchange and the upper levels have research spaces, offices and visitors rooms. |
